Vivienne is Portland's independent, woman-owned cookbook store.

We also pour wine by the glass, do book and kitchenware consignment; host cookbook classes, book talks, private parties, and more.

At our Alberta Stree shop, you'll find our curated selection of new and used books, indie food magazines, rare and antiquarian titles, kitchenwares, linens, and wine.

Have a glass of wine in the shop or grab a bottle to go. We feature natural wines, from small producers with minimal intervention. You can snack on tinned fish and crackers, shortbread cookies, and nut butter stuffed dates, and sneak to our Cave A Vins, in the back of our store.

our mission

Our Mission is to build community around food sovereignty. The better you know how to use the food in your garden, at the market, or in your pantry, the closer you are to being able to feed yourself and your family.

We use cookbooks to become better cooks and to better utilize the food resources that surround us.

consignment

We want your quality used kitchenwares, small appliances and cookbooks. A few brands we love: Le Creuset, Staub, Dansk, Mauviel, All-Clad, Breville. We offer 50% store credit or 40% in cash. We reserve the right to price items and mark them down to sell.

classes and events

Our Book Workshops are the best way to get acquainted with a new cookbook. We pick our favorite books and invite you in to get a taste of what that book has to offer. It's kind of like a dinner party, where you make everything together and go home home with a book.
